Capt. Gates is a true master of his trade. He put us right on top of the fish and there was never a dull moment. From catching great eating fish to having some crazy fights with amberjacks and sharks, Gates was a true pro who made sure we got fish to the boat. 10/10 would highly recommend. I will be going back out with him for several years to come

Had a wonderful time out on the water today with captain Gates. Would highly recommend him to anyone looking to get out and do some inshore or off shore fishing. He is highly knowledgeable with fish and where they will be biting and didn’t waste time at a spot if they we weren’t catching anything. He was also very patient and all around a lot of fun to be around!

We had a great time on our fishing trip! Our group had some challenges, with a grandmother who had mobility issues with her knees. She was able to get onto and off of boat with very little difficulty due to the help from the guide and set up of boat. Also our group did not consist of experienced fisherman (12 yr old and 16 yr old). Our guide , Gates took time to explain everything to us and get us in the right spots to have success. We had an excellent time and enjoyed cooking what we caught on trip. I would highlyrecommend!

We went out with Captain Gates this past Saturday and couldn’t have had a better experience. It was first class all the way from the time we got on the boat until we got off. Captain Gates put us on 3 different species of fish in the back water and we caught 20+ fish; couldn’t have asked for more especially considering the time of year.We had two adults, a teenager, and a 7 yr old, Captain Gates was outstanding coaching the younger guys and teaching lessons and techniques they can carry with them. I highly recommend fishing with Captain Gates for all ages!!

Had a great day out with Capt. Gates this weekend and could not have had a better experience. He treated the 13 and 6 year old's on the trip with patience, but without talking down to them at all, and was overall just a really fun and knowledgeable guy to be around. And we caught a lot of fish too! Will definitely be back and recommend to everyone that we know headed to the Charleston area.
